Trying to be Ann Margret...
My usual outfits consist of a comfy dress and black tights so I like to switch it up sometimes with a pair of vibrant tights. I never underestimate the power of a good pop of color. Today's outfit was very pinup/1950's inspired. I just can't get my thoughts to be unrelated to Bye Bye Birdie.

This upcoming week is tech hell week for the musical. I can only hope that none of my teachers seriously expect me to do work... Anyway, I'm pretty happy with my costumes for Birdie. I've always been a fan of the late 50's/early 60's. Later today I'll be picking up a prom dress to wear for my school's annual fashion show to raise money for the senior class's prom bids. I can only hope that I find something decent. Until then, I had better get some work done so I don't drown in my schoolwork this week!

a day at the MOMA

I went to MOMA and...
Today I went to the MOMA to see the Diego Rivera exhibit on a field trip, and I had such a great day. I love the atmosphere of the museum and I want to go back as soon as possible. Little trips like this really open my eyes and inspire me. They let me more sure of the fact that I have to live in the city some day. There's nothing more embittering than having to go back home after a day in Manhattan.

Today I went to Manhattan with my mom so I could got to a meeting for a performance my that my choreography (and I) will be in in April. It wasn't too crowded in the city, which made me really happy because there are few things I dislike more than slow-paced tourists. We got lunch at one of my favorite restaurants, Le Pain Quotidien, and I shamelessly snapped an Instagram (my username is rebeccadecz) pic of my delicious, and might I add vegan and organic, salad.
Yesterday I also had a nice girls night with two of my friends and we went to an adorable cafe. There, I once more shamelessly took a picture of my roasted eggplant sandwich. I just have such a great appreciation for delicious food that I figure I may as well photograph it to savor not only its flavor, but its memory.
I've felt a lot more relaxed lately than I have been for the past few months. Once the musical is over I think I'd like to enroll in a yoga class. I need a way to consistently relax myself and stay in shape. At the moment I'm just happy that tomorrow is President's Day and I am off from school!

Today was a pretty lazy Saturday. Yesterday I had sushi with my friends and we watched The Last Song and cried. I went to Target today and there were actually a few pieces from the Jason Wu collection left in my size! I bought this dress and this skirt. I'm disappointed that they didn't have all the pieces I want. I've been wearing this red coat from American Eagle all winter. I don't like wearing boring coats. My fall/spring jacket is a nice mustard color so I figured I should get something just as fun for winter. Tonight I'm going to one of my favorite little cafes with some friends so that should be a ton of fun. I hope everyone is having a peaceful weekend.

Senior year is slowly waning and I'm getting control of my life once more. The school musical Bye Bye Birdie is in two weeks and after that I'll have bundles of freedom. I was voted Best Dressed out of my senior class, which is pretty exciting. I'm just gearing up for spring and my last bit of high school.
