Yesterday I went to see Harvey on Broadway with my family. It was so good and Jim Parsons from Big Bang Theory was in it! I got this little dress from the thrift store. It's a petite but oh well, most of my dresses are short anyway! I also love this bag that I thrifted. It's a perfect city bag because it buckles closed and I can sling it over my body. It was far too hot yesterday and it was too sunny for my liking, evident my my scowl in all of these pictures.

Today I was unwillingly dragged out of my bed to attend the town Memorial Day parade, but I found people that I knew so it was okay. I also got free coffee and half a bagel so yeah. America. Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Memorial Day. I think it is a great and meaningful holiday. I just don't like waking up before my alarm is set. I'm also not a big BBQ person either, but this year I'm going to have a grilled portobello mushroom instead of a veggie burger (they're too processed for my taste) so all is well. It's a shame that holidays become so commercialized though.

I made up for my reluctance to wake up by dressing up like an American flag. One stranger at the parade even complimented my outfit, what an achievement! When I got home I chalked my hair because America. I will now probably spend the rest of my day doing nothing/listening to Norwegian rap (sorry most of the music I listen to isn't American).

one. I went thrifting today and got a bunch of good things. I also realized that nearly all of my dresses are black. Oh well.

two. All I want to do lately is just escape to a cottage by the sea or some dusty old cafe in Europe. Anything to get out of this boring suburban town.

three. There really isn't anything new going on in my life. And so it goes.

oah.

Oah -Alexander Rybak
Dress: American Eagle
Shoes: Me Too
Bag: MMS
Scarf: thrifted
I had a nice Saturday hanging out with my friend Gabby (who took these pictures). We went to my favorite cafe and then just hung out in Barnes and Noble. I loved sitting and reading The Travel Book and flipping through French Vogue and Newsweek. Books are my method of escapism, but I also frequently turn to movies and music. I just long for the day I can retire to a quiet cottage by the sea in Europe.

This outfit is a result of my wanderlust. The scarf was made in Italy so it added a bit of foreign flare to my look. I avoided wearing too much black so that my outfit would remind me of colorful buildings along the canals of Amsterdam or bright cottages on the shore of Portugal.

Gosh I can't wait to get out of this town.

Dear Prudence -The Beatles
Shirt: mom's from the 70's
Skirt: Forever 21
Shoes: thrifted (from the 80's?)
Earrings: fair trade from India
Finally a sunny day! I am still feeling very 60's (although this shirt is from the 70's). This outfit was a combo of the hippie aspect of the 60's (my shirt) with the mod aspect (my skirt). I've also been wearing my hair very messy boho in its au naturale state. I've been feeling very whimsical with my style, and it's pretty refreshing. I sense a need to go thrifting again soon.

Cardigan: Forever 21
Romper: Heritage 1981
Boots: Steve Madden
Umbrella: totes
It's been pretty rainy lately. These are my only rain boots and they hardly match anything so I always have to plan my outfits around them. I wore my red romper as shorts and slipped on my Chanel inspired-but-with-chains-instead-of-tweed cardigan. Today's a perfect day to cook some eggs and drown out the rain with Beatles music. Perhaps if I have time later I'll even pop in a Fred Astaire movie. I guess the good thing about being a part of the current generation is that I can enjoy all the culture from previous generations, even if I do prefer those time periods to my own. I'm not sure if that made sense, but pretty much yeah.

one. I have completed my two week vegan challenge. It was easier than I thought it would be. I kind of want to go gluten free for a week, we'll see.

two. This week has been pretty inconsequential. I finished exams. I exercised. I relaxed. I ate vegan food. Nothing really new.

three. I designed my graduation dress and my mom agreed to sew it. I want to learn how to sew over the summer so I can make some of my own clothes.

four. This has been an inconsequential blog post. Oh well, appreciate it.

Shirt: Forever 21
Shorts: H&M
Belt: thrifted
Headband: vintage scarf
Necklace: childhood
Shoes: Keds
I've been a lot happier for the past few days. I think eating healthy and exercising is catching up to me. I remember wearing this necklace when I was probably about five years old so this outfit was a nice reuse of it. It started as a very simple outfit with my black shorts, umbrella top, and Keds, but the accessories really added a more quirky vibe.

I'm still feeling very into the 1960s. Today I felt a bit like Marianne Faithfull. The weather was by no means enjoyable as I straightened my hair and it immediately proceeded to frizz. What can you do.
