me faulta el ruido.

El Ruido (Acustico) -David Bisbal
romper: paper denim & cloth
bag: vintage coach
belt: thrifted
shoes: guess
This is my take on the pajama-for-clothes trend. I saw this romper in the store and it confused me a bit, but once I put it on I was hooked! My torso is abnormally short for my body so I had to tuck the baggy top part into the waistband and cover it with a chunky belt, which made it look more like daywear anyway. I sold a bunch of my clothes to a new thrift store down the corner from where I live and I got this teal vintage Coach bag with my store credit. I find the current Coach bags with the c's all over them to be quite tacky, but I do like their old stuff and their new collection actually looks very nice!

I think the perfect shoe to go with this outfit would have been a simple strappy black heel, but alas, I do not own any and I can only afford Louboutins in my dreams. I still love my haircut. Having a bob makes me feel like Posh Spice.

Minnie the Moocher -Cab Calloway
dress: forever 21
shoes: forever 21
necklace: h&m
As you may have noticed this past year, I have a love affair with peter pan collars. I found this collar necklace at H&M and I decided to use it to spice up a dress that already has a collar. For me, polka dots are effortless but still classic so I tend to wear them a lot. Of course, I always look to my yellow pumps for a fun kick.

chic[ago] + major announcement!

Shake it Out -Florence and the Machine
 Art Institute of Chicago
 Roy Lichtenstein
 Chinatown
 The Field Museum
 Chicago Botanic Gardens
View from Willis Tower (tallest in the Western Hemisphere)
 "the ledge"
The Art Institute of Chicago
I also chopped all my hair off.
I was in Chicago for nine days because my brother had a summer internship at the Field Museum. I've never been to Chicago before, and the city left a good impression on me. It is a bit cleaner than my dear New York, and I must admit that people as a whole are much friendlier. However, I did get a bit disgruntled at times when people walked just a little bit slower than I am accustomed to. Nevertheless, Chicago was beautiful and had an abundance of great sights and many museums. So I now present you with these photos!

And now for my major announcement...
I am so honored to be chosen as a Freshman 15 panelist for Seventeen magazine this upcoming year! I will be in the October issue of Seventeen and I will be blogging and vlogging on the Seventeen website about my freshman year throughout the school year. I am so grateful for this amazing opportunity, and once I start blogging I'll set up a link to follow my journey! For now you can follow my periodic updates via twitter.

cats on cats on cats.

Countdown -Beyonce
romper: h&m
shoes: forever 21
bag: mms
earrings: gifted
I got this romper not for its "fashionable value" but for the elementary fact that it featured rainbow cats. As much as I like to be a sophisticate that watches BBC and drinks black coffee, some of my fashion choices tend to reflect my childish side. While I do enjoy following certain trends and fashions, I believe that personal style as a whole should reflect your own personality, not what fashion dictates what you should wear. I tend to be a relatively serious person so I try to have fun with my outfit choices because I can't take myself all too seriously.
