I've been listening to Macklemore nonstop the past two days so my outfit today has a bit more urban influence than usual. I've been looking for a pleather skater skirt forever and I finally found one in the mall. I found this jacket in the activewear section of TJ Maxx and I never really go for sportswear, but I thought it was really different. As for this tee shirt (it really says "Crazy for You"), I thought it was just hilarious and I couldn't not get it. I can't take myself seriously so sometimes I just like buying stupid things. I really hope that this shirt isn't trying to be serious though. I can't handle it.

Side note: I think I am at risk for insanity because there is nothing to do in this town and I'm staring at walls because there is NOTHING TO DO.

I feel like this  outfit is kind of fortune teller chic but that's okay. I just kind of kept piling on layer after layer until I felt okay. I pile on layers and accessories to sort of arm myself against the world, but in the end armor isn't a protector, it's an inhibitor. People are like that. They arm themselves and choose which face they're going to show to the world, but deep inside there is so much more. Our armor hides ourselves. I don't know. I've been thinking too much lately, more than is good for me, and I guess I just try to use my clothing to figure out how I really feel.

Being home is weird. Just as I'm rediscovering different elements in my wardrobe (this vest!), I'm rediscovering different thoughts and feelings I've associated with this town and its people. And suddenly, even though I really don't like driving, all I want to do is take a million turns and detours around this town, blasting my music because I really don't know what I'm doing and to be honest, I think I've been making it up as I go along this whole time. But that's okay. And everything, in the end, will be okay. And I am perfectly okay with that.

so much h&m today.
Times when I get tired of being myself I like to pretend I am someone else. I do wish I had a deerstalker to wear with this outfit, but oh well. BBC Sherlock is one of my favorite shows, even though it rips my heart out every time I watch it. I wish I could live a life filled with adventure and mystery, but alas, I am no deduction genius and consulting detectives do not exist in real life.

Still, I tried to hone Sherlock into this outfit with the neutral colors. This outfit is really simple but I like it. I got the black top this weekend and it's hard to tell in the photos, but it's a loose fit tee, and I think I'll be wearing it a lot.

Now, off to find some mysteries to solve I suppose.

This outfit makes me feel like I should be in a street café in Paris, jotting down my thoughts about 2012 in my beaten yet loved Moleskine whilst nursing a cappuccino or even a small red eye to keep me going. Yet I am home in New Jersey with a cold, curled up on my coach as a snowstorm builds up outside.

I feel I have grown lazy with my outfits and photographs lately. I still believe that fashion is art, yet I have not been very creative in my outfits. So what I think I'm going to do more of is character dressing. I'm going to take on a different persona and wonder what that person would wear. Hopefully this will help me get out of my creative rut. I'm also trying to learn how to edit my photos better. I don't have Photoshop but that doesn't mean I can't fix my photo's levels, curves, and color balance in GIMP. I'm pretty pleased with how these photos came out, and practice makes perfect so I'll keep working on my editing.

This coat is actually a bit too wide for me so I will likely be selling it on ebay--I'll be sure to post when it is up. And now for another day of blowing my nose and reading The Casual Vacancy. Hope all's Christmases were merry and bright.

Merry Christmas everyone! Just a quick outfit post and then I'm off to read The Casual Vacancy and watch some more Doctor Who. I got the usual books and jewelry for Christmas, and I'm extremely excited about the tickets I got to see John and Hank Green at Carnegie Hall! Hope everyone is having a great holiday.

There were two different outfits I was planning to wear today and this was not one of them. Originally I was going to wear a fitted vintage burgundy off the shoulder dress with this stole and then I planned on wearing a red plaid vintage shift dress. But then I remembered I had this velvet blouse that I also thrifted and wound up with this winning outfit.

I just went and picked out five different fancy cheeses for our appetizers, we fried the pierogies yesterday, and soon we'll bake a ton of cookies. Christmas Eve is a bigger deal for us than Christmas so I am so excited to eat a ton of Polish food and be FESTIVE.

♡ Merry Christmas

Happy Christmas Eve Eve! I bought this sweater yesterday during a day-long mall hall that took so long I didn't even have time to blog. I saw that Emily posted this sweater and I thought it was  so pretty so when I saw it in Forever 21, I had to have it. It's a modest knit, not too thin or too thick, and I love the color. And we all know I can't resist anything with an animal on it.

I got a bunch of things I can't wait to wear and I'm sure I will be doing some more shopping over break. I do plan on blogging tomorrow and on Christmas day, so merry Christmas to everyone who will be away from their computers over the holiday!

I figured it the world was supposed to end today I might as well wear a sparkly shirt and my disco pants because if we are going down, I'm not going down without looking fierce.

I visited my high school today and it was really just weird. I'm just so glad to see my friends again. I just need people I can talk to about feminism and validation and self expression or else I will combust. In the end though, I think I'm just an angsty teenage girl that gets habitually angry with the world, and frustrated with my inability to change people's points of view. At least I can kick it in my disco pants.
