You Were Cool -The Mountain Goats
shirt: dftba
blouse: tj maxx
cambray shirt: jones new york
shorts: h&m
boots: kelly and katie
This is what I wore yesterday to see An Evening of Awesome with John and Hank Green, and to put it simply, it was probably the most perfect day of my life. Walking around Central Park, encountering strangers who glanced at my shirt and yelled out "Pizza John!", and eating abundant amounts of organic food, whether it be Belgian chocolate spread or a leafy kale salad, the day even before the concert started was flawless. As for the performance, I wanted it to never end. If you missed it, you can watch it here. It was honestly like no other performance. The utmost joy of the performers was so infectious, and I swear, the bathroom at Carnegie Hall that night was the only place in New York City where everyone excuse me'd and sorry'd and thank you'd. Being at the show, I felt like I was a part of something special, like it was a beautiful moment not just for me, but also for the performers. Like John said, I found myself "falling in love with the world".

Of course for my outfit, I needed to play up as much symbolism as possible. I wore my Pizza John shirt as an emblem of honor and recognition amongst other who understood it, and my daisy shorts were a tribute to Alaska Young. And as for my blouse, well, just like John I feel naked without my collar.

It was really just the most incredible day, and I'm so glad to have been a member of the audience. I hope you can watch and appreciate the livestream too.

  1. I am so incredibly jealous that you got to attend the actual Carnegie Hall event! I've been a Nerdfighter for two years now and John Green is one of my all-time heroes. You're very lucky to have experienced something so great as that and also your outfit is spectacular! :)

    Love the blog!

  3. Wow, I am so amazed that you are a nerdfighter! I'm so happy that being such a fashionable person you are that you're willing to add some nerdy stuff in there too! :) I wish I would have been able to see then at Carneige Hall, but I'll settle for hearing about someone who did. Just wanted to say that I loved your outfit, as well as your blog! :)
